Mr Damage and I may be going into the t-shirt business! Here is my first idea for a design:
digital. I’m pretty proud of it. I love drawing spooky girls.

In between cleaning and painting the house, I found time to draw and paint anew picture. It’s the infamous Enid Coleslaw, from Dan Clowes’ Ghost World.
Acrylic and watercolour.

Sorry for the extremely sporadic updates, I’ve been doing some spring cleaning on the blog and my house is being redone! For the past two months the place has been in disarray with builders everywhere and recently I’ve been doing house painting and cleaning, so blogging has become way more effort than I can do at the moment. Even my poor twitter has gone unattended! But fear not, I have another painting that I’m working on, pictures of my sweet house (and Mexican kitchen!) and more recipes. And pictures of sheep and goats!
Come back soon!

I decided to hang a few older paintings, so I reworked two of my girls. I like them more as a non-digital work:
Mixed media.

Hey everyone, tomorrow is the annual Million Women Rise march to protest violence against women. I hope to see you there, try to wear purple in support! For info about the meeting point, click here. (Note, only women/girls/those that identify as women are allowed on the march.)
I finished another painting last night (insomnia has it’s merits). This was inspired by a scene in Heavenly Creatures, I wanted to capture that uneasy, slightly sinister aspect of friendship that teenage girls can have. Ludivine and Alice live in a small village near a lake and have made the surrounding forest into their secret world. Their lockets are a symbol of their everlasting friendship.
Watercolours and pencil. I think watercolour is my favourite medium.

I finally finished this little project. Food Portraits: A Personal Narrative is a journey of expat life using one of my favourite things, junk food! It shows how the sweets of my childhood start to blend in with the newly discovered treats of Britain. This is my first time using gouache, I think it turned out pretty well.
Gouache and pencil.
